Department for Infrastructure and Transport

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s (DIT) mission is to build with purpose, move with care and connect with community for all South Australians. DIT provides a vast array of infrastructure and services to the South Australian community, with responsibilities including public transport; car, truck and boat licencing services and operation of Service SA. It has significant regulatory responsibilities across all modes of transport, and a shared responsibility for road safety with SAPOL.

 

DIT also plans, designs, builds and maintains core road infrastructure across the state; has responsibility for most maritime infrastructure, provides property services to other government agencies and manages infrastructure builds for most government departments, such as schools and major sporting facilities.
